Term & Conditions

Last updated: July 27, 2026

These Website Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern access to and use of tnsg.ca, including its public webpages, contact forms, calculators, package selectors, downloadable materials, and other online features controlled by TNSG Inc., operating as True North Security Group (“TNSG,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By accessing or using the Website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Website.

These Terms govern the Website only. They do not replace or amend any quotation, proposal, work order, service agreement, monitoring agreement, warranty, financing arrangement, or other contract between you and TNSG. If there is a conflict, the applicable written agreement will govern the products or services covered by that agreement.

You may use the Website only for lawful purposes and only if you have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms. If you submit information or request work on behalf of a business, property owner, condominium corporation, employer, institution, or other organization, you represent that you are authorized to do so.

The Website is operated from Ontario, Canada. References to a location, industry, product, or service do not guarantee that TNSG will accept a particular project or that every product or service is available in every area. Availability may depend on project scope, technician and equipment availability, local infrastructure, licensing requirements, and third-party providers.

Do not use the Website, contact forms, email, calculators, or social media to report an active crime, fire, medical emergency, system alarm, or other urgent threat. In an emergency, call 911 or the appropriate local emergency service.

Existing clients must use the monitoring, support, or escalation procedures stated in their applicable agreement. A message sent through the Website does not create a duty for TNSG to monitor, dispatch, or respond to an event.

Website content is provided for general informational and promotional purposes. It is not a site-specific security assessment, engineering opinion, legal opinion, insurance advice, or confirmation that a product or system is appropriate for a particular property or use.

Security requirements vary by property, risk, infrastructure, intended use, and applicable rules. A final recommendation may require a site assessment, review of plans or existing equipment, testing of electrical and network conditions, and confirmation of the client’s objectives.

References to legislation, standards, certifications, monitoring centres, product compliance, accessibility, or similar requirements are general descriptions. Whether a particular system or installation meets an applicable requirement depends on the final equipment, configuration, location, intended use, permits, inspections, and the requirements of the authority having jurisdiction. Unless confirmed in a written agreement, Website content is not a certification of compliance.

The Website may include calculators, configurators, package selectors, questionnaires, starting prices, or similar tools. Any price, range, equipment quantity, or recommendation generated through these tools is a preliminary, non-binding estimate for general planning purposes only.

A Website estimate is based on the information entered or selected by the user and may rely on simplified assumptions and standard installation conditions. It is not a quotation, contractual estimate, invoice, offer capable of acceptance, or guarantee of product availability. It does not reserve equipment, pricing, or an installation date and does not create a service contract.

The final price may be higher or lower and may depend on factors such as:

  • the property size, layout, construction, access, and site conditions;
  • the equipment selected, required quantities, storage, analytics, and system configuration;
  • cabling, conduit, electrical, network, internet, cellular, and cybersecurity requirements;
  • compatibility with existing equipment and any removal, repair, or replacement work;
  • permits, inspections, specialized access, travel, shipping, and third-party services;
  • monitoring, cloud storage, software licences, cellular service, maintenance, or other recurring charges;
  • changes requested by the client or conditions not reasonably identifiable before assessment or installation; and
  • applicable taxes and other charges identified in the written proposal.

Packages displayed on the Website are illustrative configurations. Images may be representative, equipment models or specifications may change, equivalent products may be proposed, and optional or recurring services may not be included unless expressly stated.

Unless otherwise stated, Website prices are in Canadian dollars. Applicable taxes may be additional. Any mandatory non-government charge known to apply will be identified in the applicable written proposal or order summary before a client enters into the related agreement.

A formal quotation or proposal issued by TNSG will identify the applicable scope, inclusions, exclusions, assumptions, pricing, recurring charges, payment terms, and validity period. The written quotation, proposal, or signed agreement will govern over any Website calculation or package description.

TNSG may correct obvious typographical, product, or calculation errors. Nothing in these Terms limits any right or remedy that cannot be waived under applicable consumer protection legislation, including rules that may apply when a written estimate is incorporated into a consumer agreement.

Using the Website, submitting a form, requesting a consultation, receiving an online estimate, or communicating with a TNSG representative does not by itself require TNSG to accept a project, authorize work, reserve equipment, or create a duty to protect or monitor a person or property.

A service relationship is created only when the applicable quotation, work order, service agreement, monitoring agreement, or other contract is accepted in the manner specified by TNSG. Project-specific terms, including deposits, scheduling, change orders, warranties, maintenance, monitoring, cancellation, and liability, are governed by that agreement.

If the Website allows payment of an invoice, deposit, or other amount, payment may be processed by a third-party provider. A payment does not expand the scope of work beyond the applicable proposal, invoice, order confirmation, or agreement. Third-party payment services may apply their own terms and privacy practices.

TNSG may communicate electronically regarding inquiries, quotations, appointments, installations, support, payments, and existing services. Electronic approvals and signatures may be used where permitted by law.

Security equipment and monitoring services are intended to help reduce risk. No security system can eliminate every risk or guarantee that an incident will be prevented, detected, recorded, verified, or resolved.

No Website statement should be interpreted as a guarantee that a system will:

  • detect every person, vehicle, object, sound, alarm, or event;
  • produce clear or usable footage or evidence in every circumstance;
  • identify an individual or licence plate accurately;
  • operate without interruption or resist every attempt at tampering;
  • cause police, fire, medical, guard, or other responders to attend within a particular time; or
  • prevent theft, trespass, vandalism, fire, flooding, injury, property damage, or other loss.

System performance may be affected by camera placement, lighting, weather, obstructions, equipment condition, user settings, maintenance, power failure, internet or cellular failure, network configuration, bandwidth, storage capacity, third-party services, and other circumstances outside TNSG’s reasonable control.

Security and monitoring services are not insurance and are not a substitute for appropriate property, liability, cyber, business interruption, or other insurance coverage.

Some products described on the Website may use artificial intelligence, machine learning, object classification, facial comparison, licence plate recognition, motion analytics, audio analytics, or other automated functions. These functions may produce false positives, false negatives, incomplete results, or inaccurate classifications and should not be treated as conclusive evidence without appropriate review.

References to 24/7 monitoring, live monitoring, dispatch, police response, guard response, or similar services describe services that may be available under a separate agreement. They do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, immediate review of every event, attendance by a responder, entry onto a property, or a particular response time.

Many security systems depend on electrical power, batteries, internet or cellular connectivity, local networks, cloud platforms, manufacturer servers, software licences, mobile applications, monitoring centres, telecommunications providers, and emergency or guard response providers. Interruptions, outages, updates, policy changes, service suspension, or discontinuation by a third party may affect system operation.

Security systems may collect video, audio, access records, licence plate information, biometric information, employee information, visitor information, or other personal information. The person or organization operating the system is responsible for determining whether the intended use is lawful and appropriate.

Depending on the system and location, the client may be responsible for notices and signage, consent, employee or workplace monitoring requirements, tenant or condominium communications, camera and microphone placement, biometric processing, access permissions, retention periods, disclosure, cybersecurity, and responses to privacy requests.

TNSG does not provide legal advice through the Website. Information about how TNSG handles personal information under its control is available in the Privacy Policy.

You must not use the Website to engage in unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, abusive, or harmful conduct. You must not interfere with the Website or its security, attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, probe or test systems without written authorization, scrape or systematically extract content, or use automated tools in a manner that creates an unreasonable load.

You must not copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit Website content except as permitted by law or with TNSG’s written authorization. You must not impersonate another person, misrepresent your authority, submit information that infringes another person’s rights, or request work for a property without authority.

Information submitted through the Website must be accurate to the best of your knowledge. Ordinary Website forms and email may not be appropriate for passwords, alarm codes, access credentials, complete payment card details, biometric samples, detailed security vulnerabilities, or other highly sensitive information. Use a secure method approved by TNSG when one is provided.

TNSG may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to address unauthorized use, security concerns, unlawful activity, maintenance, or a material breach of these Terms.

The Website and its original text, design, graphics, logos, photographs, videos, calculators, layouts, and downloadable materials are owned by or licensed to TNSG and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You receive only a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the Website for lawful personal or internal business purposes.

Manufacturer names, trademarks, product images, specifications, manuals, software, and other third-party materials remain the property of their respective owners. Product specifications, compatibility, availability, and functionality may change without notice.

The Website may link to or integrate with third-party websites and services. TNSG does not control and is not responsible for their availability, content, security, accessibility, privacy practices, or operation. Testimonials, reviews, case studies, photographs, and project examples illustrate individual experiences or configurations and do not guarantee the same result for another client.

TNSG may update, restrict, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Website at any time. We do not guarantee that the Website will always be available, error-free, secure, compatible with every device or browser, or able to retain every form submission or calculation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Website and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. TNSG disclaims representations, warranties, and conditions relating to the Website, including accuracy, availability, security, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TNSG and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use the Website, reliance on Website content or estimates, errors or omissions, lost submissions or calculations, or third-party websites or services.

Liability relating to equipment, installation, monitoring, maintenance, or another contracted service is governed by the applicable agreement and mandatory law. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or limits a right, warranty, condition, remedy, or consumer protection that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

TNSG’s collection, use, disclosure, retention, and protection of personal information are described in the Privacy Policy. By submitting information, you acknowledge that it will be handled as described in that policy and for the purposes reasonably connected with your inquiry, requested service, or existing relationship with TNSG.

TNSG may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Website, services, technology, or legal requirements. The updated version will be posted with a revised “Last updated” date and will apply prospectively from the date of posting. Changes to these Website Terms do not amend an existing signed agreement unless that agreement expressly provides otherwise.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada. Subject to mandatory consumer rights and jurisdictional requirements, the courts of Ontario will have jurisdiction over disputes concerning the Website or these Terms.

If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, it will be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue in effect. A failure by TNSG to enforce a provision is not a waiver of that provision or any other right.
